We're in for a cool and windy but mostly sunny Thanksgiving week. NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley has the forecast.

No problem going over the river and through the woods on Thanksgiving Day. It will be unseasonably cool for all neighborhoods, but it will be sunny, dry and winds will be light.

The quick warm-up is coming courtesy of sunny skies and a shift in the winds. Southwesterly winds will warm us to near 60 degrees.

It's a one-day warm-up, though, as a cold front arrives Tuesday night and the temps will start dropping Wednesday.

The passage of that front will trigger rain showers overnight...

...And, into the Wednesday morning commute.

By later in the morning Wednesday, it will be dry...

...But the chillier northwesterly winds will be back.

Early Friday, temperatures will be near freezing, allowing workers to add a to the ice on the Blue Cross RiverRink in Penn's Landing. Good timing, as the rink will open to skaters Friday morning at 11.

The next chance of a few showers will come Saturday, but the chance is a small one. The chillier weather returns Sunday and lasts into the beginning of the work week.
