Wilmington's 1st Homicide of 2014

Wilmington police are investigating the city's first homicide of 2014.
 
Officers were called to West 3rd Street about 8:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a shooting. Police found 28-year-old Allen Whitt of Port Deposit, Md. in a car with gunshot wounds to his upper torso.
 
He was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
 
Wilmington had 18 homicides last year.
