Wildwood Lifeguards Rescue 4 From Rip Current

Lifeguards rescued four swimmers who apparently got caught in a rip current in Wildwood Saturday.

About 9:50 a.m., lifeguards with the Wildwood Beach Patrol were setting up for the start of their shift, which began at 10 a.m.

The lifeguards spotted four swimmers in distress in the ocean at Spicer Avenue.

Ten lifeguards went into the water and rescued the four individuals.

When they brought them back to the beach, one man was unconscious, and another person was semi-conscious.

Lifeguards performed CPR on the unconscious man and he then regained consciousness.

All four were taken to a local hospital for evaluation. All four were conscious and alert when transported.

The incident remains under investigation.
