Officials say new attractions at Wildwood are designed to postpone what some view as inevitable — beach tags.
The city is offering more contracts to persuade businesses to come to town and has opened several attractions in recent years.
Officials tell the Press of Atlantic City (http://bit.ly/1MSSkYZ) beach concessions raised about $225,000 for Wildwood last year, and should reach the city's $300,000 goal this year.
Wildwood's beaches are currently free, but other New jersey seaside towns charge for access.
Officials say the city expects to revisit the topic of beach tags during the offseason.
Wildwood plans to add more attractions next year, including passes to operate four-wheel-drive vehicles on the beach.
Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and North Wildwood all have to agree on the new fee.
