Why'd the Camel Cross the Road? Better Question: Why Is There a Camel in the Snowstorm in Pennsylvania Suburbs

The dromedary could be seen on Route 309 north near the Route 113 exit ramp just outside Souderton, Montgomery County.

A camel, yes a camel, was on the side of a highway in our area during Thursday's snowstorm, captured in all its glory by multiple driversby.

The dromedary could be seen on Route 309 north near the Route 113 exit ramp just outside Souderton, Montgomery County.

The camel was headed to the Kimmel Center in Center City, according to a spokesperson for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. The spokesperson said the camel was supposed to arrive at the building's Broad Street entrance around 6 p.m. for a special event Thursday. However, due to weather conditions, the driver got stuck on the road and was forced to head back to a petting zoo with the camel.

NBC10 is working to confirm the name of the zoo that the camel came from.
