Whose Cream Will Rise to the Top in Presidential Coffee Election?

Local coffee drinkers at 7-eleven say Democratic Candidate Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States

In Pennsylvania Obama is leading Republican Candidate John McCain 62 percent to 38 percent.

Obama is also ahead in New Jersey and Delaware.

For the third year, 7-Eleven is conducting its own opinion poll and will decide whose likely to win the presidential election based on coffee cup sales.

7-Eleven customers will have three coffee cup choices:  blue for Democrats, red for Republicans, and regular 7-Eleven cups for “undecided” or “indifferent” voters.

The color of each cup purchased is automatically recorded in 7-Eleven’s registry,  allowing the company to display cup sales information on their website and update it on a regular basis.

The cup poll will run until Election Day.

During the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections 7-Eleven coffee drinkers closely matched the official election results.  More than six million cups were cast in each of the past 7-Election polls.
