Alarm Scares Off Point Breeze Burglary Suspects

Surveillance video caught two men trying to break into a South Philadelphia home by pushing an air conditioning unit through a window.

Once the suspect entered the house on the 2100 block of Cross Street in the city's Point Breeze neighborhood, he opened the front door to allow his accomplice to gain entry.

The break-in, which occurred Dec. 17 around 9:30 a.m., caused a home alarm system to go off -- frightening the men who ran from the home before stealing anything.

Authorities describe one suspect as 5-feet 8-inches tall with wearing a zip-up hoodie, tan shirt, grey sneakers and blue jeans. The other is about 6-feet 2-inches tall, and was wearing a dark vest, blue shirt and blue jeans during the incident.

Police ask anyone with information on the suspects or the incident to contact the Philadelphia Police Department's South Detective Division at 215-668-8477 to submit a tip.
