WATCH: Robber Holds Gun to Man's Head Inside Store

A robber was caught on camera holding a gun to a man’s head inside a Philadelphia grocery store, eventually leading to an employee inside the store pulling out his own weapon and opening fire.

On Jan. 13 at 7:11 p.m., two robbers walked inside Steven’s Grocery Store on the 2900 block of D Street. One suspect held a handgun to a customer’s head while another approached the 44-year-old store employee behind the counter.

The employee pulled out his own weapon, firing three times at the suspects, according to police.

During the shooting, the employee was struck at least once in his shoulder. Police have not yet revealed whether the employee shot himself accidentally or if one of the suspects shot him.
The suspects then fled the store on foot in separate directions.

The employee was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was placed in stable condition. Nothing was stolen from the store.

The first suspect is described as a man wearing a black coat, blue hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants armed with a handgun. The second suspect is described as a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a pocket on the left sleeve and blue jeans.
