A police chase led to a fiery, multi-vehicle crash that sent several people to the hospital in Evesham Township, New Jersey Sunday afternoon.
Investigators say the ordeal began in Voorhees Township where police were pursuing a suspect. The chase continued into Evesham Township and ended with a crash involving seven vehicles at the intersection of Route 73 and Evesham Road around 12:30 p.m. At least one of the vehicles caught fire.
Six people suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to hospitals for evaluations. One suspect was also taken into custody. Police have not yet revealed the suspect’s identity or what led to the initial pursuit.
Rt. 73 southbound was shut down at Evesham Road for several hours. It was later reopened around 5:15 p.m.
