Delaware State Police have charged a Virginia man with raping a Maryland woman in a hotel in Newark.
Troopers say the 26-year-old woman, who is from Owings Mills, Maryland, was in a room at the Quality Inn Motel Sunday with a man she had met that day.
Officers say when the woman rejected the man's advances, he restrained her and sexually assaulted her. Authorities say the man took some of the woman's property before fleeing.
Police say the woman freed herself and called 911. Troopers say they arrested the man in the hotel lobby.
Thirty-three-year-old Ramon Joyner of Arlington, Virginia, was charged with rape, strangulation, robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
