Coast Guard Performs Rescue Mission of Boat Taking on Water Off New Jersey Coast

The United States Coast Guard performed a rescue mission of a boat that was taking on water off the coast of New Jersey early Wednesday morning.

The US Coast Guard received a phone call at 5 a.m. from the 87’ fishing boat called the “Golden Nugget.”

The boat, which was approximately 90 miles off the coast of Atlantic City, was taking on water, crews members relayed via radio to the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard sprang into action and launched two rescue helicopters from the CG Air Station Atlantic City.

Once they located the boat, Coast Guard crew members were able to rescue a swimmer and they lowered a dewatering pump onto the boat.

There were no reports of any injuries.
