Alleged Coffee Shop Rapist Pleads Guilty

A man accused of robbing and raping a South Philadelphia coffee shop worker plead guilty on Wednesday in court.

On March 31, Christopher Reeves, 32, allegedly attacked the 29-year-old woman at the Bean Exchange on 7th and Bainbridge.

The woman gave Reeves a small amount of cash after he told her he was homeless and needed money. Police then say Reeves then returned an hour later when he stole $173 from her register, forced her into a bathroom and raped her.

Reeves was arrested in Chester on April 3 after police received a tip.

Reeves trial began Wednesday at 9 a.m. He plead guilty to rape, robbery and other related charges.

His sentencing is set to take place on January 20, 2012.
