Pa., N.J. and Del. Go Blue for Obama

Tri-state area swept by democratic candidate

NBC News has confirmed that Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware have been won by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The swing state of Pennsylvania, with its 21 electoral votes, is the biggest win for the Obama campaign. Republican John McCain was trying to pull an upset in the Keystone State.

New Jersey, with 15 electoral votes, and Delaware, with three electoral votes, were both expected to go with the Democratic ticket.

Obama's running mate Joe Biden has served in the senate for Delaware for decades and may have helped the dems carry the First State and Keystone State.

Polls in all the states closed at 8 p.m.

Each state went to the Democratic candidate in every presidential election since 1992.
