Training Program For New Jobs Announced in Camden

Officials are planning to announce a program aimed at training Camden residents for the jobs that companies are pledging to bring to the beleaguered city.

Under a new state tax incentive program, companies are planning to move hundreds of jobs into the city that ranks among the most impoverished in the country.

Mayor Dana Redd has been saying she would have an initiative to make sure residents of the city would be ready to handle some of the jobs.

She is set to announce a program Tuesday. It is to be run by the state Department of Labor.
