Tour of Honor to Welcome Home Veterans in Delaware County

In Springfield, Delaware County, a local group is inviting the public to welcome home a groups of veterans.

On Saturday, June 10, Honor Flight Philadelphia will greet more than 125 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans home from the Tour of Honor. The event will take place at St. Kevin’s Church at 6:15 PM.

On the tour, the veterans travel to Washington D.C where they are able to visit Arlington National Cemetery and other war memorials. After a day in the nation’s capital, the bus returns home to the church parking lot via police escort, where they will be greeted by the huge crowd.

"Bring your flags, bring your 'Welcome Home' signs and bring your love for our heroes who truly deserve it," President of Honor Flight Philadelphia Andrew Schiavello said.

This event is now in its sixth year with more than 2,300 Philadelphia area veterans making the trip at no cost to them.
