Admitted Cancer Scammer Back in Jail

A Montgomery County woman who pretended to have cancer as part of a fraud scheme is back behind bars after police say she threatened two people who testified against her.

The Bucks County Courier Times reports a district judge approved one harassment charge against 27-year-old Alicia Tolton at a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

The Upper Moreland woman called two other women who had testified against her at trial, leaving one a profane voicemail, after being released from prison, authorities said.

Tolton pleaded guilty in April to theft and forgery charges for running the scam. Authorities said Tolton shaved her head and organized fundraisers so she could pay bills and drug debts.

Tolton is being held on $10,000 bail. It was not clear if she has an attorney.
