A toddler drowned in a pool in Galloway Township, New Jersey Sunday morning.
Galloway Township Police responded to a home on S. Pitney Road around 8:30 a.m. for a report of a missing child.
After searching the area they found the 2-year-old child unresponsive inside a nearby residential pool. Officer and EMS administered CPR and the child was taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus. The child later passed away. Officials have not yet revealed his or her identity. Police continue to investigate.
The incident is the third reported drowning of a child in New Jersey this month. On July 6 a 4-year-old girl was found unresponsive inside the water at the Lake & Shore Camping and RV Resort in Dennis Township, Cape May County. She was taken to the hospital where she died four days later.
On July 8, a 6-year-old Philadelphia girl drowned in a pool at a motel in Wildwood, New Jersey.
