Three western Pennsylvania men have been charged with supplying fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in at least two overdose deaths last year.
Two of the men, 32-year-old Andre Higgs, of Pittsburgh and 40-year-old Brian Borruto, of Ebensburg, are already in county jails on unrelated charges. The third suspect, 34-year-old Romar Watts, of Homestead, was arrested Thursday and faces a detention hearing before a federal magistrate in Pittsburgh Friday.
Prosecutors want him jailed until he can stand trial on the charges, which carry a minimum of 20 years and up to life in prison.
The men are charged with conspiring to distribute more than two pounds of the heroin that resulted in the deaths in March and April.
Watts' attorney didn't immediately return a call for comment Friday. The others don't have attorneys listed in court records.
