The Picks: Redskins at Eagles

Remember when owner Jeffrey Lurie called last season's 8-8 record "unacceptable?" We can't wait to hear how he describes the encore performance.

ESPN: Well, it's something. After two straight weeks of not updating any of their picks by late Wednesday, the self-proclaimed World Wide Leader in sports coverage found time to get some of their experts to weigh in on this weekend's games. And, frankly, reality isn't that much different than the "we'll just assume that no one's picking the Eagles" make-believe world we lived in the previous two weeks. Six of seven experts are taking the 'Skins on the road. Makes sense; Washington leads the division, the playoffs are on the line, and Philly is just playing out its schedule before coach Andy Reid gets canned and quarterback Michael Vick receives his walking papers.

CBSSports.com: The news gets worse for the Eagles. All nine experts are taking the 'Skins for all the reasons enumerated above. There's just nothing compelling about this Philly team. Yes, Nick Foles' development has been nice but it's certainly not enough to say, "Yeah, I feel comfortable picking them to win."

Here's CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco, who is slightly more optimistic, with the breakdown: "Will it be Robert Griffin III for the Redskins or Kirk Cousins again? Does it matter? Of course it does. This won't be an easy game for the Redskins. The Eagles aren't good, but they will get up here. Redskins take it, but it's close. Redskins, 28-27."

Yahoo Sports: Keeping with the now well-established theme: all 'Skins, all the time.

* Me (6-5): We were off the Eagles two weeks ago and they beat the Bucs. We were back on the bandwagon last week and they got smoked by the Bengals. We're off again this week, taking our cues from, well, everybody in the solar system. The Redskins have too much to lose while the Eagles are at this point holding extended training camp sessions. Washington, 24-13.
