The Center City Turf Club is closed for business.
Philly Mag's Dan McQuade broke the story, reporting even though the Turf Club "was not the most glamorous of properties" it did hold a sense of nostalgia for the people who frequented the Market Street location for fair-priced drinks and plenty of racing action.
The club was the first of five turf clubs opened by Parx Casino, formerly Philadelphia Parks, and was in business since 1988. The space is being renovated for rental by the New York company that bought the building, according to Philly Mag.
