The lawyer for a 17-year-old Pennsylvania boy accused of taking a selfie next to a 16-year-old teen he had just fatally shot wants a judge to dismiss a first-degree murder charge.
Defense attorney Patrick Thomassey says Maxwell Morton, of Jeannette, didn't mean to kill his friend. The attorney says in a Westmoreland County court filing on Tuesday that the Feb. 4 shooting of Ryan Mangan was an accident.
Thomassey says the boys were horsing around with a loaded gun that was in Mangan's house. Morton was also 16.
