Pa. Teacher Created Porn Using Student Pics: Feds

Federal prosecutors say a central Pennsylvania high school Spanish teacher used a computer program to superimpose the faces of students on child pornography, which he then sent to others.

The public defender for Jeffrey Schmutzler, of Fayetteville, told The Associated Press she has no comment on his arrest Thursday.

WHTM-TV reports Schmutzler appeared before a federal magistrate judge in Harrisburg on charges of distributing and receiving material depicting the sexual exploitation of minors.

Prosecutors told the judge that Schmutzler wrote fake fantasy stories about the students and said his computer, which had four times the normal storage capacity, was filled with pornographic images. They say he also owned two life-sized silicone dolls.

Chambersburg Area School District officials issued a statement saying they were โ€œdeeply upsetโ€ and โ€œtaking measures to keep our students and staff safe.โ€
