Authorities have accused a 37-year-old with having sex with a 16-year-old female student when he was a substitute teacher at Red Bank Regional High School.
Monmouth County prosecutors have charged Darnell Lewis with sexual assault and child endangerment. He's held on $200,000 bail.
Lewis worked as a substitute teacher and an assistant football and basketball coach at the school until he recently resigned.
It's not known if he has hired a lawyer.
