SUV Hits Tree, Kills One, Injures Another: Police

Delaware State Police say a man was killed and another man was injured when the SUV they were in fell on the driver's side and crashed into a tree.

It happened about 8 a.m. Tuesday on Cypress Road in Selbyville. Troopers say 30-year-old Daniel A. Vargas of Salisbury was speeding when the SUV he was driving approached a sharp curve.

Police say the vehicle left the road, fell onto the driver's side and hit a tree on the shoulder.

Authorities say Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 25-year-old Enrique Castillo-Muniz of Salisbury, was flown to Christiana Hospital, where police say he is in serious condition.
