Authorities say a thief wearing winter clothes in the middle of summer was held at a gunpoint by the resident he was stealing from in Glasgow.
New Castle County police say 20-year-old Ryan Lake has been charged with trespassing, theft, possession of oxycodone pills, possession of drug paraphernalia and burglary tools.
Officials say a woman on Michael Lane saw a man wearing a black knit cap, winter gloves, a scarf and goggles breaking into their car and told her husband. Her husband armed himself with a gun and confronted the man.
Police spokesman Senior Cpl. Trinidad Navarro says the husband ordered the man to lie face down in the driveway until police arrived.
Lake, who is on probation from an unrelated incident, was being held in the Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $2,000 secured bail.
