Store Owner Stabbed During Robbery Attempt

A store owner was stabbed during an attempted robbery in Northeast Philly Saturday.

Police are searching for five suspects who entered the 3 in 1 Variety Store on the 6700 block of Castor Avenue around 3:50 p.m.,

Officer say one of the men told the 66-year-old owner, who was behind the counter, he wanted his watch fixed.

As the owner inspected the watch, a different suspect came up behind and struck him in the head and then a third man stabbed him in the stomach, according to reports.

The victim's daughter, who was also in the store, heard the commotion and came out front causing the five men to flee the shop, according to officals.

Authorities say the store owner was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital and he will be okay.

Investigators are searching for the five suspects, who they say covered their faces with a scarf during the incident.
