Crash Leaves Delaware Trooper Hurt

Delaware State Police say a trooper was responding to a domestic altercation with his cruiser's lights and siren activated when a car pulled in front of him.

Police say in a news release that the trooper was driving on the shoulder of southbound Route 7 on Sunday evening when a car pulled into the turn lane in front of the trooper, forcing him to brake. Police say the cruiser fishtailed, hitting a Hyundai Sonata stopped in the right lane at a red light and knocking it onto the median. The cruiser spun around before stopping.

Police say the driver of the Hyundai was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was admitted with injuries. The trooper was treated at the hospital and released.

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
