Kids, 12 & 15, Shot at City Playground

Police question 3 persons of interest

Two children, who Philadelphia Police say were innocent bystanders, were shot at a crowded South Philly playground Tuesday night.

The bullets began to fly around 9:30 p.m. on the basketball court at the Sack's Playground at 4th and Washington Streets, according to Philadelphia Police.

A 12-year-old boy was shot once in the ankle and a 15-year-old girl was hit in the thigh, according to police.

Authorities say both kids were stable and expected to be OK.

Police say they had three persons of interest in custody but no charges were filed as of late Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information on this shooting should contact Philly Police.
