South Jersey Man Accused of Running Over His Brother Pleads Not Guilty

A southern New Jersey man has pleaded not guilty to charges that he killed his brother by running him over with a car last year.

The Burlington County Times reports 35-year-old Lyle Person pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, leaving the scene of an accident and related offenses Monday in Burlington County Superior Court in Mount Holly.

Prosecutors say the Willingboro man ran over his 31-year-old brother, Lee, in March 2014 after a dispute. He died at a hospital five days later.

Person says he's unhappy with his public defender and asked for a new attorney at his arraignment Monday.

He's being held in lieu of $852,000 bail. He's due back in court on Aug. 10 for a status conference.
