Say It Isn’t Snow: More Than Half Foot of Snow Falls

The snow moved into our region overnight and was sticking to grassy surfaces and parked cars before daybreak Friday leaving more than 6 inches in some southern parts of the region but being mostly a nuisance elsewhere.

South Jersey and Delaware got the brunt of the snow during the morning rush as borderline temperatures hovered at just about the freezing mark made it tough for the snow to stick.

Drivers still needed some extra time Friday morning to dust off the car and get to work or school as bridges and overpasses had some slick spots. There were also some minor accidents that slowed things down.[[371037021, C]]

The snow lasted through the morning rush and continued into lunchtime along the Jersey Shore.

The National Weather Service put out a Winter Weather Advisory lasting through Friday morning. As of Friday morning more than 5 inches had fallen in parts of the Jersey Shore and southern Delaware. [[371035911, C]]

By 9 a.m. the advisory ended for Pennsylvania as the storm moved out to sea but remained in effect for southern South Jersey and Delaware. [[371046071, C]]

The weekend will bring slightly warmer weather, with temperatures in the 40s, and we're in for a stunning workweek next week. Some days are projected to reach into the 70s.
