Two women were hospitalized and a man was under arrest Thursday afternoon after police say the man used a shotgun to shoot both women in Philadelphia's Hunting Park neighborhood.
Police were called to 7th Street near Cayuga at 4:18 p.m. There, they found a 29-year-old woman suffering from a shotgun wound to the right side of her neck, face and shoulder. She was taken to Temple University Hospital by medics and remained there in stable condition Thursday night.
A 58-year-old woman also suffered a graze wound to her shoulder in the shooting, police said. She was taken to Einstein Medical Center and listed in stable condition.
Police said a man was arrested immediately after the shooting and the shotgun believed to have been used was recovered. It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and no official charges had been filed Thursday night.
