A woman survived throwing herself in front of a train last night.
Police say a woman suffered only minor injuries after jumping in front of a commuter train in suburban Philadelphia, shutting down the line for more than 90 minutes.
It happened as the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority train approached the Fort Washington station around 9:30 p.m. Monday. Witnesses say the woman leapt onto the tracks as the Regional Rail train approached.
Police say the woman suffered only minor cuts and bruises after being wedged between the train and the tracks. She was alert and spoke with officers after workers moved the train off of her. She was eventually taken to Abington Hospital for treatment.
Whitemarsh Township police are investigating the incident, which led to the station being shut down for more than 90 minutes.
