Fare Collection Changes for 5 SEPTA Stations Begin Monday

The changes will be in place from Monday through Friday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street and University City stations starting July 10.

Fare collection changes are set to begin Monday for five SEPTA stations in Philadelphia.

SEPTA announced the following changes will be in place from Monday through Friday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street and University City stations starting July 10:

  • All tickets will be inspected and punched by the Fare Collection Personnel at the stairways to the train platforms and returned to the customer
  • Punched tickets must be presented to the conductor on the train for collection and placed in a seat ticket slot
  • Customers with passes must present them to the Fare Collection Personnel before going to the train platforms
  • Conductors will inspect the passes on the train. Riders must have them visible
  • All customers traveling from the aforementioned SEPTA stations weekdays between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. must have a pre-paid ticket or pass before going to the train platform. Fares can be purchased at the Station Ticket Office
  • Customers traveling with a valid reduced fare and senior citizen identification, including SEPTA key cards, must pre-purchase the appropriate ticket
  • Customers must present the valid form of ID and ticket to the Fare Collection Personnel. The ticket will be inspected, punched and returned
  • The punched ticket will be collected by the conductor on the train
