SEPTA Buses Collide, Injuring Driver, Passengers

Two SEPTA buses crashed into each other in Northeast Philadelphia late Sunday morning, sending several passengers to the hospital.

The collision happened about 10:30 a.m. at Algon and Oxford avenues when a Route 67 bus struck a Route 24 bus in the rear, a SEPTA spokesman said. Six passengers and the bus operator on the striking bus reported minor injuries, and two passengers on the bus that was hit claimed injuries, the spokesman said.

Six of the injured people were taken to Aria Health's Torresdale Hospital for treatment. SEPTA officials said they were investigating the crash later Sunday, and police were at the scene.
