A SEPTA rider is hospitalized in critical condition after a stabbing on a bus Friday afternoon in the city's Frankford neighborhood, police said.
The stabbing stemmed from a fare dispute, police said. The suspect boarded the Route 56 bus around 2 p.m. at Torresdale Avenue and Paul Street, but could not pay the fare.
When he refused to leave, the victim started arguing with him about holding up the bus from continuing on.
The argument came to a head with the stabbing, police said.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was rushed to Temple University Hospital. He's listed in critical condition, police said.
The suspect got off the bus and took off. Police are searching for him. A description was not immediately available.
