Arrest Made in Target Store Stabbing

Police made an arrest in the stabbing of a security guard at a Target store in Gloucester County.
On Friday, Gloucester Township Police were called to the Target on Berlin Cross Keys for a report of a shoplifter fighting with store employees.

When police arrived, they say they learned that a man, identified as 31-year-old Jimmy Travis of Atco, NJ, had fled in a car after shoplifting over $400 worth of Leap Pad electronic products. Police say Travis was stopped by two Target security guards as he exited the store. Travis allegedly began to fight with the guards and pulled out a pocket knife, stabbing one of the guards before fleeing the scene.

Police say they found Travis inside his vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of a nearby Shop Rite, also on Berlin Cross Keys Road. Police apprehended Travis and took him into custody. The security guard who was stabbed was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and later released.

Travis is charged with armed robbery and other related offenses. He was committed to the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 cash bail.
