2nd Suspect Arrested in Shooting Death of NJ Livery Driver: Prosecutor

A second suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a New Jersey livery cab driver last week, officials said.

Sheedley Pierre, 20, was arrested on murder, robbery and conspiracy charges in the death of 55-year-old Jonas Larose, who was found shot to death in his crashed car in Orange on Thursday night. A 15-year-old boy was also booked on those charges over the weekend.

Investigators said that Larose, of East Orange, had been fatally shot before he crashed into a sidewalk in front of a New Jersey home, flattening a fence, taking down a tree and totaling another car.

Neighbors on Snyder Street in Orange said they heard gunshots at around 11 p.m. Wednesday just before the crash, which left behind a broken fence, a tree snapped and thrown across the driveway, and car parts on the curb.

Police are investigating if Larose was a target.

Pierre is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. Attorney information on the man wasn't immediately available.
