Saturday at 6 a.m., the Kelly Drive was detoured along a 1.5-mile stretch from Strawberry Mansion Drive to Fountain Green Drive, Philadelphia police warned motorists.
The Kelly Drive closure will allow crews to get boats and other equipment to the river's edge. During that time only permitted vehicles can enter the regatta zone.
Cars will be detoured off the river drive.
Inbound traffic toward Center City "will be detoured up the Strawberry Mansion ramp to Fountain Green Drive, via Reservoir Drive,” police said in a news release.

Detour signs will be posted throughout the route. Police expected the delays along Kelly Drive to be minimal.
You can use The Schuylkill Expressway (Interstate 76) as an alternate route as the adjacent Martin Luther King Drive on the other side of the river is closed for recreational activity. Expect possible delays, however, on I-76.
