I-95 Reopens After School Bus Crash

A school bus with children on board was involved in an accident on I-95 Monday afternoon.

Officials say the bus, which was carrying 29 elementary age children, was traveling southbound on I-95 in Langhorne, Bucks County, shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Officials say the bus was traveling in the right lane when its left rear tires fell off the rear axle. The bus crossed over the left lane and down a grass embankment, striking the center median guide wire. Officials say the bus traveled about 57 feet along the guide wire before coming to a final spot on the southbound center median.

Officials say two of the children suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. They were both treated and released. Another school bus picked up the rest of the children and took all of them to a local hospital as a precaution.

I-95 southbound was shut down approaching Exit 44 while the left lane on I-95 northbound was also shut down for nearly two hours. I-95 has since reopened in both directions.
