Fire Breaks Out at Grocery Store

Flames forced the evacuation of a Montgomery County grocery Monday morning.

The blaze broke out around 9:30 a.m. at Amelia’s Grocery Outlet in the Park Towne Plaza at Lewis Road and Oak Street in Royersford, Pennsylvania.

Dispatchers said the store was evacuated after the fire broke out in the rear of the store. Firefighters could be seen pulling hoses into a rear gate.

Crews blocked Lewis Road between Oaks and Chestnut as firefighters worked.

It took about 25 minutes to bring the fire under control, according to dispatchers.

No injuries were reported. County health officials would be on the scene later Monday to determine when the store can reopen.
