Deadly Pedestrian Crash Snarls Busy Route 38 in Cherry Hill for Hours

A deadly crash between an SUV, two other vehicles and a pedestrian caused traffic trouble along a busy South Jersey roadway Thursday morning.

Traffic in both directions of Route 38 at Longwood Avenue — an area full of stores and restaurants — in Cherry Hill only could squeak by the crash around 6:20 a.m. Thursday.

The pedestrian died at the scene, Cherry Hill police said.

The wreck left the SUV with a badly damaged windshield. The other two vehicles also remained on the scene.

All the drivers cooperated with investigators. Anyone with information on the wreck is asked to call Officer Jay Watts at 856-432-8860.

The roadway finally reopened around noon, police said.
