A truck delivering cinder blocks accidentally took down utility poles along a busy Chester County roadway causing hundreds of PECO customers to lose power Thursday.
The Terre Hill Concrete Products truck had its delivery arm up when it took out utility poles along northbound U.S. Route 202 near Penn Oaks in Birmingham Township around 11 a.m., said Chester County dispatchers.
The force of impact knocked down three poles and knocked out power to 500 customers, said PECO. As of 3 p.m., nearly 200 PECO customers remained in the dark. PECO estimated it could take until 7 or 8 p.m. to restore power to everyone.
