Women, Plastic Bags Over Their Heads, Die in Apparent Suicide Pact Inside Northeast Philadelphia Motel: Sources

Police found the bound bodies of two women inside a Northeast Philadelphia motel Sunday in what appeared to be a suicide pact made to look like a double homicide, sources told NBC10.

The unidentified women, ages of 33 and 39, who were from West Virginia, were both found unresponsive with white plastic bags over their heads inside the Roosevelt Motor Inn on the 7600 block of E. Roosevelt Boulevard around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, said Philadelphia Police. Investigators also said one of the women had both hands tied behind her back while the other had one hand tied.

Medics declared the duo dead a short time later, said Philadelphia police.

The women had checked in the night before they were found dead and police believe they were using drugs, according to investigators.

Initially, police declared the deaths possible homicides but later sources said it appeared to be a possible suicide pact. Authorities say surveillance video shows the women were the only people who went into or came out of the motel room where they were found.
