Crashes Along the Boulevard

Two separate crashes along the busy roadway caused traffic headaches while landing people in the hospital this morning.

A woman was rushed to the hospital early this morning after her car flipped along the Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 1).

The yet-to-be identified woman lost control of her SUV along the Roosevelt Boulevard near Harbison Avenue in Philadelphia’s Mayfair neighborhood and slammed into a pole along the southbound lanes around 2 a.m.

The crash left traffic lights in the area down on the ground, still changing from green to yellow to red.

Medics rushed the driver, who is in her 40s, to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash left the inner lanes of the roadway closed for hours.

Around 4:30 a.m. another car crashed in the northbound lanes at Bridge Street and the Boulevard in the city’s Wissinoming section.

In the second crash the car rolled over leaving a woman and a man hurt.

The wreck left the inner lanes closed.

These crashes continue a recent trend of crashes along and near the Boulevard. Just last week a pregnant woman died in a crash along Red Lion Road approaching the Boulevard.
