Swimmers along the New Jersey coast need to be cautious because there is a moderate risk for rip currents, according to the National Weather Service.

Those currents kept lifeguards along the Jersey shore busy this weekend.

Avon administrator Tim Gallagher told the Asbury Park Press a 60-year-old man was unconscious when he was dragged ashore by lifeguards on Saturday. Gallagher said lifeguards performed CPR and the man was responsive by the time he was put in an ambulance and taken to a hospital.

A dozen people were rescued from the ocean in Seaside Park.
