Authorities in upstate New York say three railroad bridge inspectors and nine teens on a camp boating trip had to be pulled from the Delaware River at the Pennsylvania border.
Officials say it started at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when the inspectors' vehicle overturned due to the river's swift current.
Bernie Swartwood, Pike County, Pennsylvania's public safety director, says rescuers from the Port Jervis Fire Department rescued the three inspectors with a boat. None of them were injured.
Sparrowbush Fire Chief Carl Van Horn tells the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that one of the teens was hospitalized after his canoe flipped over in the water. Firefighters from Pennsylvania quickly reached the teen and pulled him into a boat.
The teens' conditions aren't known.
