Reading Terminal Market Ranks Among Best Food Halls in U.S.

A new report puts Philadelphia's own Reading Terminal Market shoulder-to-shoulder with other iconic food halls around the country — a fast-growing sector in the U.S. restaurant industry.

Since the Reading Terminal Market began in 1680 as a cluster of informal markets around Front and High (now Market) streets, it's become one of Philadelphia's iconic destinations, bringing more than 6 million visitors annually.

Real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield ranked the top 20 food halls in the United States, where Philadelphia's own Reading Terminal Market made the list.
