Reading Homicide Suspect Found Walking Along Pennsylvania Highway

Police in the eastern Pennsylvania city of Reading say officers in a neighboring township have found a homicide suspect walking along a highway.

Twenty-three-year-old Tristan Cannon, of Reading, remained in the Berks County Prison on Tuesday on criminal homicide and related charges.

Reading police say Cannon fatally shot 18-year-old Savon Branford as he sat in a car Sunday evening, and also wounded Branford's sister who came out of a nearby house, which put her in the line of fire.

Police in Cumru Township saw Cannon walking along Route 222 shortly after midnight Monday morning. Police originally stopped Cannon for his own safety, because pedestrians are not supposed to be on the highway.

But police say they found a gun on Cannon after learning he was wanted for the shootings.

Online court records don't list a defense attorney.
