Rare Roadster Goes for $700K at Pa Auction

A 1933 roadster has fetched more than $700,000 at a classic-car auction held in Hershey.

RM Auctions says the Chrysler CL Imperial Convertible Roadster was one of only nine built and one of only six that are still around. It sold for $704,000. It was the top sale at a two-day auction that featured 115 cars, a boat and memorabilia.

The auction at Hershey Lodge ended Friday with more than $9.5 million in sales and 90 percent of all lots sold.

Other cars of note included a 1910 Pierce-Arrow seven-passenger model that went for more than $687,000 and a 1936 Lincoln convertible that brought $242,000.
