Rap Video Victim Run Over, Not Shot: Cops

Wild scene at filming of amateur rap video leaves 1 man dead

A man who was killed during the filming of a rap video wasn't shot but rather died from being run over by a car, Philadelphia Police said Friday.

The incident at N 5th and Tabor Streets in the Olney section of the city was originally called in Thursday at 7 p.m. as a shooting and police said that they believed the 33-year-old victim was shot in the head and then accidentally run over.

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"He collapsed on the street in the 500 block of Tabor and during all the confusion he was run over by a vehicle trying to get out of the area after hearing the gunshots," Chief Inspector Scott Small said Thursday night.

It's unclear if there were ever any gunshots. There were about 100 people at the filming of the video, according to police.

Police said Thursday night that driver wouldn’t be charged.

Officers took three armed men into custody Thursday night. As of Friday none of those men were charged.

It still isn't clear which artist was filming a video at the time of the incident.
